About Swirlygirl

Hello! I’m Sheila a.k.a. Swirlygirl and I am so glad you have decided to come by for a visit! I hope you enjoy your stay 🙂 Please let me know your thoughts on all my projects, your projects, and the overall human condition:)

Who needs straight lines & boring boxes? Loops & Swirls are so much more fun & beautiful! GET SWIRLY WITH ME!

LOVE is not a strong enough word to express how I feel about decorating and creating beautiful things. It’s an overwhelming desire so strong I cannot contain it! So, I’ve decided to share it.

Thus my 2012 resolution is to not only grab the bull by the horns, but to wrestle it to the ground and put a pretty, pink dress on it! (Awww…that sounds cute, kinda.)

Translation: I AM going to increase my “self-fulfillment” time. “What’s that?” you ask? Time spent doing things, quality things in my opinion, that are satisfying to me, less idle time and more productive time. So far here’s what I got:

*Family is #1

*Fitness, although exercise is the devil, I’m not loving the aches & pains & health issues that come with a sedentary lifestyle #ACK

(plus, I get sore and have to stop creating, we simply can’t have that!)

*Diet, ya ya more of the above^

*CREATING STUFF I ADORE!!!!!!! That’s what you’ll be seeing here; I hope it makes you smile as much as it does me!

*Writing-always been one of my dreams.

*Learning, technology&blogging is my main focus, but I learn a little from the great teacher called life every day. I am also looking forward to learning from YOU! Lay the comments/tips/suggestions/CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on me-THICK!

So please join me on this adventure, it’ll be a whole lot more enjoyable with friends along:)

About me: I have been living in Tyler, TX for two years. I had lived in the same county, St. Francois MO, for 42 years. I knew everyone and all the back roads, which I MISS more than anyone knows, but I also left behind my best friend-my dad. We are absolutely heartbroken to be apart. I believe all things happen for a reason. Escaping to my little craft room has become my therapy.

I am married to my honey and he is the BEST man out there, except for my dad of course. I have two wild and crazy teenage boys. We have a ball together except for when they’re being difficult teenagers!

I have been a teacher for 15 years. I taught mainly first grade(LOVED those sweet, little wiggle worms- but they do suck the life right out of you!). I now have a great job teaching special needs children. This has become such an eye opener and they have taught me so many things about life. I LOVE THEM!!! They are always in a happy mood, it’s impossible to have a bad day with their smiley, loving faces looking at you all day. Talk about inspiration!
